Staff Accountant
Job Description Example
Premier Talent Partners is seeking Staff Accountants for several of our clients nationwide. The ideal candidate for the position will have strong accounting knowledge to assist with month-end close, and tax experience to handle business and tax filing in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare tax provision and business filings for multiple US entities, including but not limited to tax provision calculation, tax research, incorporation/dissolution process and annual business filings
- Perform month-end financial book closing for game development studios, including but not limited to GL, AP, AR, payroll entries
- Conduct fixed asset management to support asset additions, transfers, disposals, asset tag tracking, property tax, and all other FA related tasks
- Proactively communicate with department head/ employee for accounting and tax matters
- Coordinate financial statement audit, internal audit, and tax audit
- Complete ad hoc projects
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 2+ years of experience in corporate income tax filing
- Must have General Ledger experience (Oracle experience preferred)
- Strong ability to research on new or complex tax matters and manage deadlines
- Familiar with tax provision calculation; understand the effect of various tax attributes (e.g. NOL, R&D tax credit, etc.) on future tax obligations and DTA/DTL balances
- Familiar with incorporation/dissolution process and annual state filings for corporations
- Self-motivated and proactive to identify and resolve problems, organized and willing to learn on the job
- Audit experience is highly desirable, but not required
