HR IN A BOX PART 4: EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT TOOLKIT

Welcome back! Now that we’ve covered Part 1 (Pre-Employment + Compliance Toolkit), Part 2 (Recruiting Toolkit), and Part 3 (Onboarding Toolkit) of HR in a Box, we continue on to Part 4!
Part 4 of HR IN A BOX contains the Employee Development Toolkit.
In this section, we will provide the building blocks needed to create a structure around performance management. When done well, performance management processes are vital for setting new hires and established employees up for success. On top of providing a consistent opportunity to engage and facilitate robust collaboration between teams, performance management also has a huge impact on everything from productivity to employee morale and motivation.
The Employee Development Toolkit contains the following:
- 90-Day Introductory Period Policy: Consider implementing a 3-month trial period for new hires. Beginning on the employee’s hire date, this timeframe will include training and close evaluation to determine an overall long-term fit.
- S.M.A.R.T. GOALS Template: S.M.A.R.T. Goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Setting S.M.A.R.T. goals is a well-established method of goal-setting because it incorporates all of the previously mentioned components to help you strategize and make sure that you systematically achieve your goals.
- Weekly Team Meeting Agenda: Never have a meeting just to have a meeting again! These weekly meeting agendas will help you track progress, bolster collaboration, and provide the opportunity to discuss any pressing matters or roadblocks.
- 1-on-1 Question Bank: Make your meetings more impactful by pulling from our question bank. 1-on-1’s are an important time for employees to have face time with their managers. We recommend that 1-on-1’s should be conducted on a weekly basis, so nothing ever falls through the cracks and employees remain engaged.
In this installment of our “Ask The Expert” video series, Natalie Stones (VP of Business Development) will be joined by Brenda Marceline (Sr.Recruiting Director) to review the Employee Development Toolkit in detail. If you haven’t already done so, download a preview of HR IN A BOX now!
